Elementary, my dear Watson.
If you’re fan of the world renowned fictional detective Sherlock Holmes, then Baker Street, London is a must-visit. Outside Baker Street station is The Great Detective, a Sherlock Holmes statue created by sculptor John Doubleday. It was commissioned by the Sherlock Holmes Society of London in 1999 and sponsored by Abbey National plc, now Santander, to commemorate its 150th Anniversary.
Just a short walk away is 221b Baker Street, Sherlock Holmes’ residence from 1881 to 1904. This address was the original headquarters of Abbey National plc but is now home to the Sherlock Holmes Museum, which has the largest collection of Sherlock Holmes gifts and memorabilia in the world.
