So, what could be some of the reasons for these preferences? Mexico City has a vibrant culture, rich in history and art, and generally has a lower cost of living compared to many Western cities. Seoul and Tokyo are technology hubs, known for their innovative culture, and they both have low crime rates. Porto has beautiful architecture and scenic landscapes, and has a pretty laid back vibe. And Mardrid, just like Mexico City, is culturally rich with various museums, theatres and galleries, as well as having a popular culinary scene.

Chiang Mai is known for being a digital nomad hub, and so it’s a great place to base oneself if you want to expand your network and stay within a vibrant digital nomad community. Budapest has a historical charm to it, which is ideal for people looking for creativity and inspiration to guide their work. Munich and Berlin in Germany have a high standard of living and there’s a burgeoning coffee shop scene in both cities where people can get a caffeine boost and get some work done. And Medellín has a low cost of living with a thriving digital nomad scene, as well as having pleasant weather year round.
