Batu Caves – Selangor, Malaysia

If you’re visiting Kuala Lumpur, the Batu Caves can offer a nice distraction from the hustle and bustle of city life and other tourist spots such as the Petronas Towers, Jalan Alor, Chinatown (Petaling Street) and the National Mosque (Masjid Negara). Located in Selangor, the Batu Caves can be reached in 35 minutes departing from KL Sentral station.

Prepare to burn some calories and get your steps in, as reaching the top of the caves requires quite a climb, made somewhat more tolerable by the sight of mischievous monkeys and fluttering bats; and of course the feeling of accomplishment when you finally make it to the top!

Vibrant colours make it ideal to capture the perfect Instagram selfie, seeds can be purchased to feed flocks of pigeons and coconut water is available to quench your thirst if needed after a steep climb in the humid Malaysian climate.
